As stated above, Siddha Galaxia, being one of the prestigious projects, aims to develop high-quality homes for the residents of Kolkata. And Sanfield India feels honored to be a part of this project.

Since its inception in 1986, Siddha has been designing residential and commercial spaces with a difference, to make a good living in Kolkata and other parts of India like Jaipur, Mumbai and Bengaluru.

Being one of the largest residential complex development with a project area of 43000 sq. ft, Siddha’s perseverance and passion for quality homes drive it forward with every new project. Led by Group Chairman Chandra Prakash Jain and Group Managing Director Sanjay Jain, Siddha believes that the magic of craftsmanship lies beyond the reality of construction.

Apart from providing modern amenities, this project is known for its “World’s Longest Rooftop Skywalk with 1.1 km jogging track” which makes it a distinctive achievement for Team Sanfield. The Rooftop Skywalk changed the game, inviting residents to enjoy a sky-life experience with a host of amenities.

Now let’s understand this structure in technical terms.

In case of building structures, the replacement of the bearings is the most expensive and complicated task for any structural engineer. Siddha Galaxia is considered to be a residential project, and so there was a need to craft a stable structure which ensured all the safety measures and had the life almost equal to the life of the structure.

And that’s where Sanfield’s technical expertise came into play.

After understanding the requirement of project, our experts found out that Spherical Bearings was the most suitable product to hold this kind of complex structure. General bearings accommodate movements and allow rotations, but have a less service life. On the other hand, Spherical bearings have a high stability, better performance score and a longer service life compared to any other general bearings.

MSM Spherical Bearings

We in Sanfield, specifically design and manufacture MSM (Maurer Sliding Material) Spherical Bearings, which are tested on every stage and are considered to be the most suitable product so far in the bearing product line. These specialized bearings have longer service life and can accommodate substantial load combinations. The sliding material itself is designed to withstand maximum temperature variations. So, there is no need to replace or any repair the bearing in its entire tenure.

Considering all the factors, we found that MSM Spherical Bearings would be the best solution for this project. And hence, we supplied around 50 MSM Spherical Bearings. The load of the bearings range from 77 Kn to 618 Kn ULS (ultimate limit state).

The rooftop skywalk has a height of 141 feets from the ground level. With the increasing height of the structure, the wind pressures becomes stronger. This combined with the seismic forces and the weight of the structure itself, makes the structure vulnerable to various risks.

Therefore, 50 MSM spherical bearings have been placed beneath the skywalk to give the structure, the much desired protection from the acting external forces.

The completion of this project will be another realization in Sanfield’s book of achievements.

Siddha Galaxia is also registered as a ‘Green Homes’ project by the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC). ‘Green Homes’ is the first rating programme developed in India, exclusively for the residential sector.

Siddha Galaxia - The right spatial spread. The right spaciousness. The right number of apartments. The right apartment structure – Truly, It has established itself as one of the most attractive residential offerings in suburbs, where the future of Kolkata is headed. With state-of-the-art amenities, easy connectivity and a convenient location, Siddha Galaxia is heaven-sent.
