Project NCRTC – India in 21st Century

National Capital Region Transport Corporation ( NCRTC ) - a Joint Venture of Govt of India and the States of Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh is mandated for implementing the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) project across the National Capital Region. This mobility system will not only improve regional connectivity but will also help to promote sustainable and balanced urban development in the NCR region. But, why was this set of bodies formed?   The NCRTC body was established in 2013. The Union Cabinet approved this body under the Companies Act, 1956 with an initial capital of Rs.100 crores. This body was formed to design, develop, implement, finance, operate and maintain  the Regional Rapid Transit System ( RRTS )  to provide comfortable and fast transit to NCR towns and meet the high growth in transport demand.    This project involves an estimated investment of US$20 billion for phase 1. Did you know that the construction of the Brooklyn Bridge in New York, 1869 was completed by the "First Field Woman Engineer"?  Emily Warren Roebling  took over her husband Washington Roebling's responsibilities as chief engineer. Pride of North India : Signature Bridge

Signature Bridge - A new tourist destination, located across the Yamuna River connecting Wazirabad to east Delhi, is the most contemporary landmark for the capital of India - Delhi. The bridge was inaugurated on 4 November 2018 by the then Chief Minister of Delhi - Arvind Kejriwal, to ease the rapidly-increasing traffic congestion on the existing Wazirabad bridge. The architectural highlight of the bridge is its inclined pylon of 156-metre. Over the top is a 30 meters steel glass that has selfie spots to accommodate 50 visitors at one time. The pylon of Signature Bridge is the tallest structure in Delhi and is double the height of Qutub Minar.
