Project NCRTC – India in 21st Century
National Capital Region Transport Corporation ( NCRTC ) - a Joint Venture of Govt of India and the States of Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh is mandated for implementing the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) project across the National Capital Region. This mobility system will not only improve regional connectivity but will also help to promote sustainable and balanced urban development in the NCR region. But, why was this set of bodies formed? The NCRTC body was established in 2013. The Union Cabinet approved this body under the Companies Act, 1956 with an initial capital of Rs.100 crores. This body was formed to design, develop, implement, finance, operate and maintain the Regional Rapid Transit System ( RRTS ) to provide comfortable and fast transit to NCR towns and meet the high growth in transport demand.
